At the 2018 Basel Watch Fair, the CORUM watch launched the new 45mm Admiral skeleton watch. The former Admiral watch was known for its exquisite nautical dial, and now the dial is abandoned and the vacuum is unveiled. This watch combines superior technology and fun charm, and offers a wide range of individual designs.
The mechanical devices are at a glance. The CO 082 movement of the watch is designed by CORUM watch which is made by EMC, the brand’s own watch factory. The unique charm is worth removing the dial and the close-up. The movement has a 42-hour power reserve and is completely exposed, giving the Admiral’s watch a dynamic and vibrant look.
The 45mm Admiral’s skeleton watch is not limited to the removal of the dial, the splint is hollowed out and covered with a dark gray surface for a sharp contrast. The first is that the white copper gear of the movement matches the color of the other parts. This is followed by the main colours of the different models of the 45mm Admiral Squelette Watch-turquoise, yellow or red. These tones are distributed in different parts of each crown and can be found on the second hand, case, strap and date display. Since today, Corum has provided a tailor-made watch service that combines different colors, three elements, and different color straps.
The date display is also different from the traditional design, and the date display panel is equipped with large size numbers. These Arabic numerals differ from this type of common drawing or engraving and sapphire panel, but use precision EDM technology to cut one by one. This cutting process produces a slim number without a base that is engaged by transmission hidden under the flange. This ethereal construction enhances the hollowed out visual of the 45mm Admiral’s watch and reveals the subtle details of the brand’s own movement in the lower splint.
The CORUM watch has a date window at 6 o’clock and a solid chassis to read the information on this large open date display. The color of the chassis contrasts with the date, highlighting the sporty and modern feel of the 45mm Admiral’s openwork watch. Its color contains a variety of different shades of the series, including turquoise, yellow or red. This hollow structure is equipped with a large prince-style hour and minute hands, along the 12-sided sea flag carved under the famous 12-sided bezel and admired by the Admiral series. The watch is equipped with a 45 mm diameter 5-piece titanium case with a vulcanized rubber strap that is water-resistant to 300 meters, which matches the nautical origin of the Admiral series.
Modern and sporty, this collection includes seven models, each with a limited edition of 288 pieces (3 natural titanium case models and 4 matte black PVD case models).
The Admiral series is a major pillar of the CORUM watch. This collection was launched in 1960, five years after the brand was founded, and is a symbol of the nautical timepiece for the CORUM watch. The brand faithfully extends its artistic style, but never rests on its laurels and it is willing to explore new waters. Today, the 45mm Admiral’s skeleton watch is a testament to this. This watch’s innovative approach complements the nautical design with purely timepiece machinery.
