When it comes to Corum watches, most people may think of the iconic Big Bubble series or Golden Bridge series. These are indeed iconic collections of Corum, but they are more “near” in their product brochures. If we go a little further, for example back to the 1960s, then we are talking about the Admiral series.
As the name implies, this product line is particularly affected by water, boat and navigation, with different sizes and complex features.
From the name, we are used to calling this watch Admiral Legend 42. But the name you look at on the dial is called “Admiral’s Cup”. This problem seems to be the same for the two names. So if you see Admiral’s Cup, this is Admiral Legend 42, not something else.
The 42 that appears is well understood, that is, the diameter of the watch is 42 mm. However, to see this size, your should be training a kind of special eyesight, – the shape of the case is a twelve-deformation. In addition to visually distinguishing it from other watches at first glance, this style also laid the foundation for the dial.
On the dial of the Corum Admiral Legend 42, you can see that the mizzenmast (yacht term) is on your wrist, and the shape of the signal flag forms the scales. This is far from being a stupid way to simply add color and nautical qualities to the watch.

It seems that the pattern and color on the dial of the Admiral Legend 42 will make the watch dazzling, but it is more coordinated. In fact, in addition to the background color of the dial, there are only four colors – red, blue, yellow and black. These colors are small enough to allow other aspects – corners, circular grooves and other similar things to shine. There are a lot of things on the dial, but they don’t get messed up or cause difficulties when reading (even if the pointer is a kind of flag).
The calibre carried by this watch is a movement called CO395 by Corum. It is based on the ETA 2895 movement and adds some extra sanding decoration. Considering the solid ETA substrate, you can still speculate that the reliability, accuracy and maintenance are not a problem.
